Support writing difficult emails or letters using NVC consciousness
in person or by Skype or phone

Letter* writing has its pros and cons!
When we want to say something important, often the best thing to do is to pay a visit to the person or pick up a phone as it can be easy for people to read into what we have written, things we didn't mean due to there being no non-verbal cues to back up the words. Yet there are times when, for various reasons, we can't visit/phone or we wish to maintain a level of protection from the immediate response or we need space and time to think both in sending the information and in receiving the answer.
*wherever I use the term 'letter' this is interchangeable with any form of written communication such as emailing and, to a lesser extent, texting.

Letter-writing skills can be learnt
Many people, even people with developed 'people skills', still find it hard to articulate what they want to say in an email or letter in a way that shares what they are feeling and what is really important to them without any sense of judgement, blame or 'put down' creeping in.  Even if they manage this, they are often disappointed with the reply as they haven't been clear in asking for what they want to receive back.
This is a skill we can learn and develop and get better at with practice. Yet there are some key skills that can help the learning process be less of a trial and error process and more consciously developed.

Saving heart-ache and time
Although we can never predict how another person is going to react to our words, writing with care can save a lot of heart-ache and time.

Most commonly, these types of letters are written to girl/boy friends, lovers, ex-partners (especially when negotiating access to children), friends and family but might include writing to colleagues, bosses, other community members...
